PRACTICE AREAS

Assault

Mr. Boyce has been handling these types of cases for over a decade and has a wealth of trial and negotiation experience in these matters. Depending on the type of assault, you may be facing a mandatory minimum sentence to the Colorado Department of Corrections. It is extremely important you speak to an attorney. In these types of cases, as much as any other, beginning investigation as quickly as possible, can sometimes be your best defense. Call now to schedule a free consultation.
Juvenile Crimes
If you or your child has been charged with a juvenile offense, speak to an attorney with experience handling juvenile allegations. While the prosecutor may want you to believe that these are not as serious as or have the same types of consequences as being charged with an adult crime, think again. A juvenile offense can have a number of adverse immediate and collateral consequences that can forever affect your child’s future. You need to speak with someone who can help your child minimize these effects. Please call the Law Office of Michael Boyce to discuss the ways in which he may be able to help your son or daughter if he or she is facing a felony or misdemeanor charge as a juvenile.
PreFile Investigations
If you are under investigation for a crime, or a suspect in a crime, you have a right to consult with an attorney before speaking with police, their agents, or investigators. The Law Office of Michael Boyce assists in speaking with you, speaking to the police on your behalf, or explaining to the police that you are represented by an attorney and no longer wish to speak to law enforcement. Whether you contact the Law Office of Michael Boyce, or another attorney, I strongly encourage you to speak with an attorney prior to speaking with law enforcement.
Driving Under the Influence
Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or driving while ability impaired by drugs or alcohol, are very serious matters and are not to be taken lightly. The result in your case may very well depend on someone knows the law and can advise on the steps you can take prior to resolving your case to maximize your chances for the least amount of adverse consequences. The Law Office of Michael Boyce handles all phases of drug and alcohol related driving offenses, including the Department of Motor Vehicles Hearings. Call now to discuss your case!
Sex Assault
The mere allegation of sexual assault, attempted sexual assault, or sexually assaulting a child, is devastating. There are so many factors to consider if you are experiencing these types of allegations: The potential incarceration; the potential requirement of registering as a sex offender; and the potential for exclusion from anyone under eighteen years of age (including your family, schools functions, and coworkers, just to name a few). If you, or anyone in your family, including juveniles, are facing these types of allegations, please call the Law Office of Michael Boyce immediately to schedule a meeting to discuss your case.
Theft
Have you been charged with theft or a crime against the property of another person? If convicted, you could be forced to disclose any type of crime of dishonesty (like theft), to future employers, job prospects, housing leases, bank loans, and a host of other applications causing adverse consequences. Furthermore, in the event you accept a plea bargain in the case, you need to ensure your attorney has done everything possible to reach a plea bargain to a charge that is not going to haunt you for the rest of your life for making a bad decision. Call the Law Office of Michael Boyce and speak to a lawyer who can evaluate your case and discuss your best options.
Domestic Violence
Domestic violence cases are usually much more complex than the allegations in the police reports. The Law Office of Michael Boyce has experience defending against these charges. There are often other issues that need to be addressed in these situations. A restraining order will automatically enter against the person charged in the situation. Who is going to watch the kids? Take them to school? What about visitation?

The Law Office of Michael Boyce has been helping people charged with these issues for years and can help you with the charges you are facing and the details of restraining order compliance and potential modification. Call the Law Office of Michael Boyce to discuss your case and what I can do to help you.
Drug Possession and Distribution
If you have been charged with a drug offense in the State of Colorado, and you are serious about addressing any substance abuse issues you may have, there’s good news for you. The Colorado State Legislature recently reformed the law as to how people are charged with possession of a controlled substance and the possible penalties they may face. For low level drug offenses, drug treatment is the preferred method of addressing drug issues rather than incarceration. In many cases, successful completion of probation, or specialized sentences to drug court, can mean you can complete probation without a felony on your record and even, in some cases, have your record sealed.

Call the Law Office of Michael Boyce to see if you can make use of the new drug reform laws, regardless of whether you have been charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, or distribution of a controlled substance. Mr. Boyce has a great amount of experience dealing with these charges, regardless of the amount of the controlled substance, and may be able to assist you with your case.
Probation Revocations
The Law Office of Michael P. Boyce can help you if you are facing a revocation of your probation. If you are facing a revocation of your probation, you are facing the possibility of having your probation revoked, and, depending on the type of probation, facing a possible sentence to the county jail or the Colorado Department of Corrections. You need an attorney to help defend the allegations against you. Call me for a free consultation to discuss your options and the allegations you are facing.
Miscellaneous
If you are charged with crime and it is not one of the ones you see listed above, please feel free to give me a call. The Law Office of Michael Boyce handles everything from traffic tickets to Homicide and attempt murder defense, arson cases, aggravated robberies, child prostitution, solicitation, and a host of other offenses charged by the state. If there is a type of criminal case I don’t handle, I am happy to refer you to someone who does.
